The Hugh M. Gloster Society
In 2007, we launched the Hugh M. Gloster Society. Named in honor of one of MSM's esteemed founders and late president of Morehouse College, the Gloster Society was established to help grow philanthropy and to enhance our knowledge of exceptional generosity to the Institution. Any donor who gives $1,000[i] or more in a 12-month period is automatically a member of the Gloster Society.
To show our gratitude for your generous support, and to demonstrate the importance
of your investment with our institution, we offer exclusive access and information
to our Gloster Society members as outlined below:
President’s Circle $25,000+
Leadership Circle $10,000
Catalyst’s Circle $5,000
Circle of Friends $1,000
In addition, all donors who invest in scholarships and/or endowed funds will receive
an annual stewardship report, detailing fund health and use.

The Louis C. Brown Vanguard Award: Honoring Health Care Champions
In 2009, MSM established the Louis C. Brown Vanguard Award. The award is named in honor of the late Atlanta internist and a founder of MSM. The Vanguard Award recognizes individuals whose pioneering spirit and demonstrated leadership have impacted issues of health disparities in Georgia and the nation.
Inaugural Vanguard Award recipients were A.D. "Pete" Correll, chairman of the Board of Directors of the Grady Memorial Hospital Corporation and retired chairman of Georgia-Pacific Corporation, and Michael B. Russell, CEO of H.J. Russell & Company and member of the Board of Directors of the Grady Memorial Hospital Corporation.
The 2017 Vanguard Award Recipient was baseball legend and Hall of Famer Henry "Hank" Aaron, who accepted the award at the 2017 Hugh M. Gloster Society Celebration held April 13, 2017. "Hammerin'" Hank made his mark on the Atlanta community and solidified his place in American history with his record-breaking baseball career. Since then, he and his wife Billye have become pillars in the Atlanta business and philanthropic communities. Their contributions include a $3 million gift to Morehouse School of Medicine that helped fund expansion of the Hugh Gloster Medical Education building and create the Billye Suber Aaron Student Pavilion, which opened in May 2017. When it comes to advancing health equity, Hank and MSM have partnered to hit another home run.
